ALTAR GUILD
Prepare the Altar
for all services. Responsible for cleaning
linens, vessels, and vestments. Must devote
time to scheduled training sessions.

CHOIR
St. Michael's
Choir sings for the Sunday Service; and
reinforces congregational singing at all
Liturgical Services. The Choir also sings with
other Churches in special presentations
including Advent, Vespers and Even Song and
Concerts. An annual Concert is presented at the
Church, usually in August. The repertoire
includes music from the Renaissance period to
the Modern/Contemporary period representing such
composers as Hassler, Palestrina, Bach, Verdi as
well as arrangements by the Director, and Negro
Spirituals by: Carter, Hogan, Johnson, Burleigh
and other Afro-American composers.
The ability to
read music is not a requirement to join the
choir. Basic choral techniques, which include
tone development, sight singing and ear training
drills, are incorporated into the rehearsals,
which are held on Wednesday nights.
